About Aggar Microfinance

Aggar Microfinance S.C. (Aggar MFI) is the first private commercial microfinance institution in Ethiopia, established under Proclamation No. 40/96 (now replaced by Proclamation No. 626/2009). Its mission is to bridge the gap of the “missing middle” by providing credit and savings services to urban and rural communities.

Aggar started with 443 shareholders and ETB 4.24 million paid-up capital. Today, it has grown to over 750 shareholders, ETB 200 million paid-up capital, and ETB 410 million in total assets—balancing social impact and profitability across its operations.

  • Qualification: BA Degree/Diploma in Accounting or related fields
  • Experience:
    • BA: 2 years in a Bank/Financial Institution
    • Diploma: 6 years in a Bank/Financial Institution

2. Corporate Performance & Business Strategy Expert

  • Qualification: MA/BA Degree in Economics, Marketing Management, or related fields
  • Experience:
    • MA: 6 years relevant experience (3 years at supervisory level)
    • BA: 8 years relevant experience (3 years at supervisory level)
  • Place of Work: Head Office (Addis Ababa)

3. Director, Strategy Partnership & Business Development

  • Qualification: MA/BA Degree in Economics, Business Management, Marketing, or related fields
  • Experience:
    • MA: 7 years relevant experience (3 years at managerial level in Microfinance/Financial Institution)
    • BA: 9 years relevant experience (3 years at managerial level in Microfinance/Financial Institution)
  • Place of Work: Head Office (Addis Ababa)
