Job Summary
Plan International Ethiopia is hiring a Grant Finance Specialist to ensure sound financial management and compliance for donor-funded projects. This role supports grant planning, forecasting, expenditure monitoring, income recognition, and capacity building. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver quality reporting, uphold donor requirements, and strengthen financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with donor and internal financial regulations
- Monitor project budgets, expenditure, and reporting
- Lead income recognition, cost allocation, and audit readiness
- Conduct risk assessments and resolve financial discrepancies
- Coordinate grant opening, implementation, and closure
- Build financial capacity of program and partner staff
- Collaborate with technical teams on project delivery and sustainability
- Monitor cost recovery and support organizational growth strategies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in grant finance management
- At least 3 years in a senior finance role within an NGO context
- In-depth knowledge of donor compliance (EU, USAID, UN Agencies, etc.)
- Strong skills in SAP or other financial systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
