About Solidarités International
Solidarités International is a humanitarian NGO dedicated to providing aid to people affected by conflict, epidemics, natural disasters, and economic collapse. Active globally, SI was registered in Ethiopia in December 2022 and is now opening its base in Motta, Amhara Region. We aim to implement community-driven emergency programs, with a focus on water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), and infrastructure.
Position: WATSAN Officer (x2)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Higher education certificate or equivalent in:
- Civil Engineering
- Hydraulic Engineering
- Electro-mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Water and Sanitation or related fields
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in a technical field; experience in humanitarian/development sector is an asset.
- Language: Fluency in Amharic is required. Proficiency in English is highly appreciated.
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and monitoring of WASH infrastructure projects
- Supervise construction and maintenance activities using SI tools
- Organize and oversee community participation in projects
- Manage worksite safety and ensure compliance with technical standards
- Report on project progress and participate in coordination meetings
- Work closely with local authorities and beneficiaries
- Provide technical input for evaluations, planning, and assessments
- Collaborate with the Hygiene Promotion team and other field staff
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Capacity to manage local contractors and labor teams
- Familiarity with safety procedures and Do No Harm principles
- Ability to maintain accurate field records and reports
