The Refugees and Returnees Service (RRS), a governmental organization in Ethiopia dedicated to providing essential services to refugees and returnees, is announcing a new job opportunity for Refugee Registration Officer II.

With nearly 1 million refugees from 19+ countries hosted in 25 camps across six regional states, RRS plays a crucial role in refugee protection and service delivery in collaboration with UN agencies, NGOs, and government partners.

Position Details

  • Job Title: Refugee Registration Officer II
  • Number of Vacancies: 60
  • Contract Duration: 4 months
  • Duty Stations: Addis Ababa, Assosa, Gambella, Jigjiga, Melkadida, Semera, Gondar (applicants must indicate their preferred exam location)
  • Payment: 1,746 ETB per day (paid monthly)

Qualification Requirements

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:
    • Information Technology (IT)
    • Information Systems
    • Computer Science
    • Cyber Security
    • Management Information Systems (MIS)
    • Software Engineering
  • Experience:
    Minimum 2 years in:
    • Data encoding
    • Registration
    • Data management
    • Or related IT/administrative roles
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong knowledge of network systems, IT security, and computer applications
    • Familiarity with IT policies, registration procedures, and best practices
    • Prior experience with RRS, UNHCR, or IOM in refugee contexts is an advantage

Scope of Work & Considerations

  • Open for qualified applicants across Ethiopia
  • Reassignment within operational locations may occur depending on workload
